The Barge is equipped with a Macgregor 8-point mooring system. The Winches are rated at 60T Drum pull at 9.0m/Min, and a static brake holding power of 120T on the 1st Layer. The drum has a capacity of 1500M of 44mm dia SWR. A centralized remote control panel will be located on the bridge thus providing a safe and efficient means of operating and monitoring the mooring system. This system will also provide tension and length monitoring facilities. All winches will have local control stations in addition to the centralized control unit. Additionally, by virtue of being fitted with thrusters, our AFDV is capable of moving around the field and positioning itself without aid from towing vessels. The use of anchor handling tugs is therefore limited in need to lay out the SAFECOM 1 mooring system.
