SAFECOM 1 has a clear deck space of 1200m2, strengthened for loading 12.5 T/m2 and a crane with lift capacity up to 300t.  This makes it ideal for supporting the field development process.  Various types of offshore items can be kept on deck including suction anchors, supply containers and spools of pipe for subsea work.  By storing items in the field, offshore workers can be fed for longer periods of time. The need to hire PSVs for resupply is also minimized. Ultimately, SAFECOM 1 will make an offshore field more efficient.
